“We are currently rolling out MagelLog at Argel. Launched in September 2024, this project aims to optimize delivery routes to reduce the number of kilometers traveled, while still meeting customers’ preferred delivery times. To make the logisticians’ work easier and avoid re-deliveries, the order cut-off time was moved forward to 2:30 p.m. instead of 8:00 p.m. This allows the logistics team to plan routes before order picking begins.

Route optimization is carried out using the Mapo software. It enables the visualization and optimization of the delivery sequence for scheduled routes. This tool supports the logistics team in better anticipating upcoming deliveries. Digitized route sheets are sent by the logistics department directly to delivery drivers on their PDAs, which should eventually eliminate the need for paper printouts. Thanks to route optimization, Argel will, starting in 2025, reduce fuel consumption, truck wear, and its overall transport footprint. Customer satisfaction is also expected to improve, due to better anticipation of delivery times and conditions. It is worth noting that the Mapo software has also been implemented within the Krill Network and the Atlanterra Alliance, where it has already proven its effectiveness.”
