" Kenty was approached by ADEME to lead a pilot project called “Full Speed Ahead!” on the island of Ouessant. Waste management on the Ponant Islands is particularly challenging. For instance, the overpack cardboard boxes used for our frozen food products cannot be processed on the island and must be brought back to the mainland. In response to this, ADEME and Even Distribution’s CSR team, with the support of the Brittany Region, proposed replacing secondary cardboard packaging with reusable plastic crates. Four of our restaurant clients immediately agreed to test this alternative. We implemented a tracking system for the crates shipped and then collected in containers at the port of Brest. The team at the Plougastel-Daoulas agency committed to the project with great motivation and pride in being pioneers in this initiative. The trial proved successful for all parties involved. A few areas for improvement were identified, such as adjusting the size of the crates and addressing the washing process. The operation will be expanded to other Ponant Islands during 2025 and could also be rolled out in major cities like Rennes and Nantes. This initiative reflects Kenty’s commitment to sustainable development and waste reduction. "
